Ludo Club
More games to play
Ludo Club is a free browser version of the classic cross-and-circle board game, playable online against friends or random opponents from anywhere in the world. No download is needed and it runs on phones, tablets, and desktops, so you can get a game in at school, at work, or on the couch. Developed by Moonfrog and released on Android and iOS in 2017, then brought to HTML5 in 2023, it pits two to four players in the familiar race to move four tokens from start to home before anyone else does.
What is Ludo Club?
Ludo Club is an online multiplayer take on Ludo, the board game derived from the ancient Indian game Pachisi. Each player starts with four tokens in their corner. You roll one die per turn and move a token that many spaces along the track. The aim is simple: get all four of your tokens to the center home column before your opponents do. Capturing an opponent token sends it back to their start, and landing on a safe square protects yours from capture. The mix of luck and positioning decisions keeps each match unpredictable.
How to roll and move
All interaction in the browser version is done with a single mouse button. Click to roll, then click the token you want to move.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Roll the dice | Left-click the dice area |
| Select a token to move | Left-click the token |
| Confirm move (if prompted) | Left-click the highlighted square |
Game modes and leaderboards
Ludo Club lets you play against friends by sharing a game link or join a public match against players worldwide. A club ranking system tracks your wins and lets you climb leaderboards to claim the title of Ludo King. The table below summarises the two main ways to play.
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Play with friends | Share a private room code and play against people you choose |
| Worldwide match | Matched against random opponents; result affects your club ranking |
Tips for moving tokens faster
- Always try to get a second token out of home base as early as possible. Having only one token on the board is risky.
- Safe squares (usually marked with a star or shield) protect your token from capture. Park here when an opponent is close behind.
- Prioritize capturing opponent tokens that are nearly home. Sending them back buys you several turns of breathing room.
- A roll of six lets you move and then roll again. Use this to leapfrog over danger zones.
- In the endgame, move your most advanced token first so you do not overshoot the home column on a high roll.
